This comes from the Washington Post and it is “Daddy” Bruce Randolph Sr’s sauce coming out of Denver. It’s quick and easy and produces a thin but very tasty addition to ribs, steak, fries or tots. This, combined with a herb infused wet rub, brings a new depth to our BBQ ribs. Make extra and save it for sandwiches.

To make about 5 cups of sauce you’ll need: 2 cups of apple cider vinegar, 1 cup ketchup, 1 cup light brown sugar, 3/4 cup Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 cup lemon juice, 1/2 cup Louisiana hot sauce, 4 cloves garlic (grated or minced), 1 Tbsp salt, and 1/2 Tbsp ground pepper.

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat and stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved – about 5 mins. Don’t let it boil. Use a balloon whisk to combine everything into a smooth sauce.

Turn off the heat and let the sauce stand until it reaches room temperature. Pour into a mason or other jar and either use right away or place into the fridge for later use, or both!
